SAGE Video Adds Social Work Collection, Enhances Two Other Collections
SAGE Publishing announces the launch of its 12th video collection and the release of 20 hours of content updates to existing collections. The new SAGE Video Social Work collection will feature original and licensed video showcasing social work skills, practices, populations, challenges, and research. The SAGE Video Business & Management and Media, Communication, & Cultural Studies collections will each receive 10 hours of new content on new topics requested by faculty around the world.
The SAGE Video Social Work collection, a resource for students studying to become social workers, contains exclusive content on a growing field. With more than 325 videos developed by leading authors, academics, and practitioners, students will learn how to:
- Engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate individuals, families, groups, and communities
- Apply theory, direct-practice methods, and communicate across diverse populations
- Conduct research and assessments
- Create action-based programs for change
The collection features tutorials, video case studies, interviews, documentaries, and videos that show social work in action across the globe. 70% of the content is exclusive to SAGE Video, including video on the core areas of social work as defined by the Core Competencies published by the Council on Social Work Education and the Capabilities Framework published by The British Association of Social Workers.
The Business & Management collection update will bring a concentrated focus on micro skills of business: personal negotiation skills and entrepreneurial decision-making; as well as macro skills: how to succeed in a globalized business market and conceptualize a winning marketing strategy. The Media, Communication, & Cultural Studies collection update emphasizes critical study of media practices and challenges students to analyze the narratives and representation in both factual and fictional media.
“SAGE is dedicated to providing instructors and librarians with teaching and learning tools that incorporate the latest advances across the social sciences,” says Kiren Shoman, Vice President of Editorial Pedagogy at SAGE. “These new videos will complement course material and help drive student discussion in new directions. They reflect our commitment not only to fulfilling unmet needs of social science teaching faculty, but also to supporting librarians as they provide needed, high-quality content to their patrons.”
Hosted on the SAGE Knowledge platform, the streaming videos are fully citable with searchable and downloadable transcripts, custom clip and playlist creation, and embedding capabilities.
SAGE Video collections are developed in partnership with leading academics, societies, and practitioners to deliver teaching and research-oriented video within the social sciences. Collections include: business & management, counseling & psychotherapy, criminology & criminal justice, education, media, communication & cultural studies, politics & international relations, psychology, sociology, social work, and research methods (housed on the SAGE Research Methods platform).
