SAGE to begin publishing Workplace Health and Safety journal
Official journal of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. (AAOHN)
Los Angeles, CA - SAGE today announces that it will begin publishing Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), a journal that supports and promotes the practice of occupational and environmental health nursing, beginning in early 2015.
"Workplace Health & Safety is the only U.S. journal focused exclusively on occupational and environmental health nursing practice and research. Our journal actively solicits articles from both occupational health nurses and our interdisciplinary research and practice colleagues in occupational health and safety around the world," stated the journal's Editor-in-Chief, Joy E. Wachs, PhD, RN, FAAOHN. "Joining the SAGE family will provide us with access to global occupational health and safety professionals to whom the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses is committed."
WHS publishes clinical and research articles on emerging issues for occupational and environmental health nurses and the occupational health team. To support both organizational and worker health, the journal is dedicated to enhancing nurses' business and leadership skills.
"We are proud to publish a journal that has been publishing leading research with real implications for the nursing community for more than 60 years," commented Bob Howard, Vice President, SAGE Journals. "We are confident that as the publishing partner of AAOHN, together we can expand the journal's readership and promote cross-disciplinary work across a global community of scholars."
"AAOHN is proud of our Workplace Health & Safety journal. It is the premier journal focusing on worker health and safety. Our members always rank it at the top of their member value list of products and services we offer," stated Pam Carter, RN, COHN-S, FAAOHN President, AAOHN. "We are pleased to partner with SAGE as we know this relationship will give our readership a product that will exceed their expectations and need for evidence-based literature in the field of occupational and environmental health nursing.”
The journal’s ability to reach a larger audience will enhance the AAOHN mission of providing membership with information to improve the health and safety of workers around the world.
